In this video, we’re going to talk about the five top health tips of all time.

But before we look at the best tips, we should take a look at the worst tips. Here’s what you should NOT do:
• Low fat
• Low salt
• Lots of water
• Lean protein
• Lose weight to get healthy
• 6 small meals per day
• Exercise is most important
• Reduce added sugars, but you can still have some
• Eat your breakfast
• There are no bad foods
• Everything in moderation
• No one diet for everyone
• Every diet works if you keep your calories low
• Replace saturated fats with vegetable oil

Here are the 5 best health tips:

1. Keep insulin normal
Keeping your insulin levels normal is one of the best things you can do for weight loss and your overall health. To promote healthy insulin levels, lower your carbohydrates, increase your healthy fats, and avoid all vegetable oils.

2. Fasting
Intermittent fasting and prolonged fasting are incredible tools for promoting a healthy body. They induce autophagy and help normalize your insulin levels. Two things you can do to start off your intermittent fasting plan is to skip breakfast and cut out all snacks.

3. Get healthy to lose weight
One of the worst tips is to lose weight to get healthy—instead, you should get healthy to lose weight. You want to always focus on your health first, and the weight loss will come with it. Keep in mind that you can lose weight without being healthy—this is not our goal!

4. Do healthy keto
A low-carb, high-fat diet will put your body into ketosis. Ketones are the body’s preferred fuel source. A healthy keto diet consists of plenty of vegetables and healthy fats that promote overall health and longevity. You always want to focus on organic, grass-fed, pasture-raised, wild-caught, and full-fat products.

5. Exercise, sleep, and reduce stress
Stress triggers insulin, which blocks weight loss. You want to get plenty of sleep and exercise to reduce stress and promote a healthy body.

Give these tips a try and let me know how they affect your health and happiness.

December 30th 2021, I weighed 276lbs. I’m 6’1 and 30yrs old. My jaw hit the floor seeing this number. One night I couldn’t sleep well, so I was on a YouTube binge, it just so happened I stumbled on your video! I’ve watched near all your videos on keto, IF,OMAD, and burning belly fat. I decided to take the plunge and try this IF and keto at the same time. Today 2-6-21 I’m down to 231lbs!!! I’ve lost near 45lbs in 5 weeks!! Never felt better! My old clothes all fit again and I have tons of energy and I’m rarely hungry! My goal weight is 190lbs and I hope to hit that goal by May of 2022!!! Thanks Dr Berg your the man!! I’ve shared your videos with lots of friends and family who are also in a journey to get healthy!!

  9. Janet Fuller on March 15, 2022 at 7:22 pm

I never want water ! I see these women at work downing jugs of water all day. I eat quite a few vegetables and some fruits. I do like my green tea twice a day, sometimes three cups a day, I am not thirsty. I am just a person who enjoys warm green tea. I think I might stay hydrated through my fruits and vegetables. If you actually start cooking your own meals this is a game changer. Total control of what goes into your body.

  11. Lora Garrett on March 15, 2022 at 7:23 pm

I tried not eating breakfast or moving it until later and I just didn’t feel well- especially since I exercise on the beach first thing. I’d be in literal stomach pain with a growling stomach. So I learned to listen to my body. And if I eat earlier 3 x a day and stop eating earlier like 5pm then I feel great! Anyone else?

Why skipping breakfast? I prefer having big breakfast and a meal in the afternoon. Does it make a difference If I skip breakfast or the meal in the evening?

  16. Guadalupe Patel on March 15, 2022 at 7:29 pm

I understand that health is or should be our #1 priority and eating healthy and nutritious food is the way to keep insulin under control however, not everyone can afford organic, grass fed or great quality products, specially right now with climate change and food getting so expensive.

Help beloved doctor , I was wondering , in the Latin community we have a very popular person, he is frank Suarez he always advice that since we all are different , to use a blood glucose meter to keep an eye on your blood sugar lever . Because he found out that some people get their glucose levels triggered by foods that usually you think it won’t spur glucose levels

Because of my daily schedule , I finish work late. So why not escape dinner instead of breakfast ?????

  34. Evgeny Kaplun on March 15, 2022 at 7:55 pm

Just one remark, Dr. Berg. Lean protein does have a higher Food Insulin Index (FII), than fat protein, indeed. BUT: FII does not correspond with real insulin response from the same amount (grams) of lean or fat product. Why? Because FII is calculated based on the different product portions equal to 1000kJ of energy. But I assume if we compare insulin response after taking an equal amount (by weight) of, for example, 100g of fillet minion (lean meat) and of ribeye (fatty meat), we’ll get almost the same result.

I can’t skip breakfast i work heavy and do sport 5x a week, even with a 1300kcal breakfast i am starving at 10:45 and i have really fast metabolism, need many calories

  36. PERVEZ KHAN on March 15, 2022 at 7:59 pm

Dr. Eric, Thank you. Big fan.
Appreciate if you could advise on Indian diets for Keto. We consume things differently ie: Indian Bread (wheat based), Boiled Rice, potatoes, light fried vegetables with spices, chicken dishes, mutton dishes, fish. Are the above good to consume or not?

  37. Olga German on March 15, 2022 at 8:01 pm

There is only I can’t agree to is skipping breakfast. I can skip lunch and dinner even, I swear, but when I wake up I can’t but eat, I just feel dead up until I consume something.

P.S. ms, has followed suggested recommendations for people with ms(exercises, no veg oils, lots of fish and blah blah) for a half year and became skinny af (before that was slim)
