What “hobby” could I do with my mom who can’t see, hear or understand any instructions & tells me is bored?

I am currently caring for a man 101 yrs old. Ive been his caregiver for 5 yrs. He lost his wife last yr of 70 yrs! He is not demented but frail. He won’t color, do his crosswords, play games etc.. I struggle finding things for him as he is from the generation of "that’s a woman’s job". I told him today there were "volunteer jobs" open for seniors which entailed taking a bucket of screws and adding a washer and nut to each one. He was hesitant but eventually agreed! He was a work in the garage type of guy so let’s hope it works. He is just so bored! Now off to the hardware store 🙂

My mother was a hairdresser for over 50 years. The care center gave her small towels to fold & she was very happy doing it. She felt like she was "back in business"!!

CAC Tagaradi Churna Tagar (Valeriana wallichii) is the main ingredient used for the preparation of this churna. This churna is very beneficial in neurological, psychological, and digestive disorders. In low dosage, it calms the mind, strengthens the nerves, and prevents convulsions. It improves the strength of the heart muscles and helps in reducing the blood pressure. It is the best vata and kapha pacifier churna. Tagaradi churna improves the quality of sleep and induces the sound sleep. It elevates the mood and helps the patients in reducing stress and mood disorders.

Very informative thank you. I am new to of this world of dementia and want to be able to help my client in every way. My training didn’t cover simple daily living with dementia and how to keep occupied.

A client of mine as NOT able to follow directions but I knew being a home maker and foster Mom her long term memory would know how to fold baby clothes. I purchased 2 – dollar tree laundry baskets of baby clothes from salvation army and sure enough she folded them right up. I would give her the 2nd basket and undo first one and she would fold all day. She also mated socks 🙂 I also gave her rope tied at one end and a bucket of beads and she would string beads. She eventually lost the ability to string but I noticed she was sorting by color! I bought a huge bead tray from a local craft store and she sorted beads by color all day as well. She looked forward to her "chores". She also enjoyed dressing a baby doll and caring for it so we did that. I see so many activities for seniors that are out of their reach. Your video is excellent in that it it involves all levels of dementia and or physical capability.
