In US news and current events today, Glamour Gals is a nonprofit that empowers young women to visit senior citizens across the U.S. & give them complimentary makeovers. Due to COVID-19, nursing homes across the country restricted visitors as concerns grow about the spread of the disease among the vulnerable population. This has left thousands of seniors in isolation.
In an effort to continue their mission in a new way, Glamour Gals began a letter writing campaign which has mobilized more than 30 of its chapters. It is also encouraging the public to join in on its campaign by letting people submit their own letter to its website or tag their letter on social media with #MyDearFriend.

This was a fantastic idea. We did this to eastern. We wrote eastern card for older People where was alone because the Virus the family could not visit them. I wrote cards too.
This is a fantastic idea. I can’t imagine being stuck somewhere that I normally wouldn’t get visited often and the few social outlets I get being cut off.
